Project Re-Entry
Project Re-Entry provides a weekly socialization
and recreation program for people who have had strokes or other
disabling conditions that limit their community participation.
Project Re-entry also sponsors an annual adult education course
on Stroke Prevention and Rehabilitation for community members,
families and survivors of stroke. Project Re-Entry was funded
by the Santa Barbara County Auxiliary of the California Medical
Association before Rehabilitation Institute at Santa Barbara committed
to continue the coordination of the program in 2002. Founded by
the late Lorraine McNiece, philanthropist and RISB Board Member,
Project Re-Entry provides an important community resource for
stroke survivors and their friends and families.

staff and volunteers who lead activities, games, entertainment,
socializing, and fun. Meetings are Friday mornings, 10:00 am -
12:00 pm, at RISB.
Adult Education Course:

education class about stroke and recovery from stroke is provided
to community members, families and survivors of stroke. The course
is co-sponsored by Santa Barbara City College and Rehabilitation
Institute at Santa Barbara (RISB). Speakers come from many health
care professions involved in serving individuals with stroke and
their families. Continuing Education Credits are available for
