DRIVER
We are seeking driver to transport patients, and process/deliver
supplies and mail. Candidates must have a California driver’s
license, good driving skills, clean driving record, good communication
skills, and the ability to maneuver a minimum of 75 pounds. Driving,
patient care or related experience and a current or pending CPR
certification are required. CNA skills a plus. Full-time.
REGISTERED NURSES
At RISB our nurses treat the whole person, educate the family,
and work as part of a transdisciplinary team delivering optimal
patient care. We have a terrific working environment, team oriented
approach, and personalized patient care – a great place

Current opportunities include:
Full time, part-time, and per diem RN positions on all shifts.
Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) a plus.

Per Diem rates for RNs:
Days = $32.50/hr
Evenings = $35.75/hr
Nights = $37.38/hr
SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive and swallowing
problems of neurogenic origin in an outpatient setting, train
caregivers, and develop home programs. Requirements include SLP
master's degree, California SLP license and ASHA Certificate of
Clinical Competence. Familiarity with Medicare documentation preferred.
24 hours per week.
PHYSICAL THERAPIST or PHYSICAL
THERAPIST ASSISTANT
Work in nurturing surroundings with Physical Therapists and other
medical rehabilitation specialists as mentors. Provide treatment
in outpatient and inpatient settings and demonstrate independence
in patient progression, schedule management, and discharge planning.
Requirements include graduation from an accredited school or program,
California PT or PTA license (or eligibility), CPR certification,
and the ability to perform patient transfers. New grads are welcome.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
Administer and supervise occupational therapy treatment in an
inpatient medical rehabilitation setting and provide clinical
assessment, goal setting, treatment and discharge planning. Requires
graduation from an accredited OT school, California OT license
(or eligibility), clinical decision making skills, effective written
and verbal communication abilities, CPR certification, and a driver’s
license. Rehabilitation experience or internship is preferred.

Volunteering
Volunteers at Rehabilitation Institute
at Santa Barbara add to the quality of the healthcare environment
by providing many extra services that supplement the care of the
doctors, nurses, physical therapists and other caregivers. Volunteers
not only help patients, but also families, visitors, the hospital
staff and the community.

at the reception desk in RISB's lobby (2415 De la Vina Street,
Santa Barbara). After the application is completed and returned,
you will be contacted to discuss your interests. Every effort
is made to place the volunteer in an area where she or he has
the greatest ability and interest.
Rehabilitation Institute at Santa Barbara
has a large and vital team of volunteers who participate actively
in much of the Institute's work. Volunteers choose from a variety
of tasks, and their ideas about how to contribute uniquely from
their own talents are always welcome. We are eager to welcome
new volunteers. There's an opportunity for you to contribute at
RISB!

- Interaction with patients in games to
rebuild strength and coordination
- Conversation, letter writing, games
to practice language skills
- Moving patients in their wheelchairs
from one therapy site to the next
- Accompanying patients on excursions

- Participating in pet therapy, aquatic

- Translating
- Informal peer counseling - a volunteer
with a disability is matched up with a patient who has a similar
disability and provides peer support and encouragement
- Office work - computer data entry, preparing
mailings, filing, copying
- Entertaining with music and dance
- Assisting with crafts, parties, other
group activities
- Assisting with special events
